At PetsMemo we respect your privacy. The app uses a WebView to display content from our website. Personal data may therefore be processed via both the website and the application as described below.

2) Scope and Definitions

This policy applies to the website petsmemo.com and the PetsMemo mobile application (Android). Terms such as “personal data”, “processing”, “controller”, “processor” have the meaning given by the GDPR.

3) Data We Collect

• Account data: email, password (hashed), owner name.
• Pet profile data: pet name, species, breed, date of birth, description, photos, videos.
• Interaction data: posts, comments, likes, messages, notifications.
• Device and log data: IP, device/browser details, timestamps, error logs, Firebase Cloud Messaging token for push notifications.
• Optional data: preferences (theme, language), saved searches, connections to other social networks (if provided).

4) Legal Bases (GDPR Art. 6)

• Contract (Art. 6(1)(b)): creating and maintaining your account, enabling the social features of PetsMemo.
• Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)): push notifications, marketing communications, optional profile information.
• Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)): security, fraud prevention, service analytics, enforcing policies.
• Legal obligation (Art. 6(1)(c)): responding to lawful requests, retaining records where required.

5) Sharing and Recipients

• Infrastructure providers: hosting, CDN, email delivery, storage (only with appropriate safeguards).
• Analytics / crash reporting: aggregated metrics that do not identify you personally.
• Authorities: when required by law (court orders, police requests).
• Other users: only data you choose to make public (e.g. posts, public profile).

6) Mobile App Permissions

The Android application may request permissions for camera, storage, or notifications. Each permission is used solely to provide the respective functionality (e.g. uploading photos, sending push alerts). Permissions can be revoked in your device settings.

7) Retention Periods

• Account data: retained while you maintain an account, plus up to 30 days after deletion for backup/safety.
• Content (posts, comments): retained until you delete it or remove your account.
• Logs and security data: typically 90 days unless required for investigations.
• Transaction-related records: kept for the statutory periods (if applicable).

8) Security

We implement technical and organizational measures: HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, access controls, monitoring, and regular updates. Despite these safeguards, no online service can be fully secure, so please use a strong password and protect your account credentials.

9) Your Rights

Under the GDPR you may exercise the following rights:

• Access to your personal data;
• Rectification of inaccurate or incomplete data;
• Erasure (“right to be forgotten”) where applicable;
• Restriction of processing;
• Data portability;
• Objection to processing based on legitimate interest or direct marketing;

The “Data safety” section in Google Play mirrors this policy: we declare the data categories collected, purposes, sharing, and security practices. When processing changes, both this document and the Google Play listing are updated.
